Experience Alaska's grandeur
on a scale only Kachemak Bay can offer!
Kayaking: The
calm waters on the south side of Kachemak Bay are ideal for
kayaking. Paddle among islands and past waterfalls and watch
for porpoises, seals, otters, and even whales. Gaze at sea
stars and fish beneath the still waters and collect mussels
and clams at low tide. You can even paddle up to the face
of Grewingk Glacier.

Fishing:
Homer is the undisputed halibut
fishing capital of the world with fishing charters leaving
daily from the Homer Spit. Exciting salmon fishing is
available at the Fishing Hole on the Spit, in nearby
Anchor River, and offshore in Kachemak Bay and beyond.
And dont forget the clams and mussels on the south
side of the bay!

Hiking:
On the south side of the bay in
Kachemak State Park, 80 miles of maintained hiking trails
lead you through coastal rainforest to glaciers, lakes,
rivers, and above treeline to mountain meadows and peaks.
On the Homer side there is hiking along Bishops
Beach and several maintained trails. Bike the famous Homer
Spit along scenic back roads, or across the bay to Red
Mountain and the seaside town of Seldovia. |

Plan your Alaska
adventure depending on your interests. Guests have enjoyed
all-day horseback trips to the head of the bay, kayaking
at the face of Grewingk glacier, biking to Red Mountain,
and, of course, a number of successful fishing trips.
A short and scenic walk down Bear Creek
Drive leads you to tennis courts (racquets and balls
provided) and a playground for children.

And after all the days
busy activities, come home to the Garden House to
relax on the deck in the peaceful woodland garden
setting and watch for moose in the light of the midnight
sun.
